What time would you get up in the morning if you could choose? Is there any sunlight streaming through your windows in your ideal wake-up time? How strong are those rays?
For me 7:00 would be ideal. 6:30 is still reasonable. 6:00 if you insist. At ALL of those times I feel that some amount of sunlight is preferable. My husband is in agreement with me. J, however, has insinuated that half the day is already gone if there is any hint of sunlight.
He was not adopted. I was there for his birth.
Because of J's insistence on waking up well before the sun, we instituted something we call his "resting and reading time." It was a survival tactic. He can get up and turn on the light, but he has to stay in his room until our alarm clock sounds. Then he is allowed to, well, rest and read. He is also allowed to write and play with QUIET toys.
With all that quiet and being nice and fresh from a good night's sleep, we find that J does some of his best work. This morning's offering came about in response to all the world geography we've been doing--original spelling intact.
Presenting: Geography Cartoons, by J.

The last picture would have been appropriate for a political cartoon if "teeny Armenia" had been written as "teeny Georgia."
Were you aware that geography could be such fun? Maybe we should ALL get up before dawn! Who knows what great things we could bring forth...?
