I've mentioned before that I grew up in Florida. I never understood why the "snow birds" would always lament the lack of seasons.
Then, I moved north. We arrived at the end of June eleven years ago and picked strawberries. Without sweating. That was new. There were amazing amounts of flowers everywhere. It was like everyone was starved for color and absolutely reveled in it (which was true--winter is white).
Then came Autumn. I have never seen anything so breathtaking. The amazing pictures you see on those calendars are not retouched. That's EXACTLY what it looks like. Below are some pictures we took the other day. They do not do it justice, but we tried. I'll just let God's creation speak for itself:
